WHITEWATER WALL - SOUTH FACING SIDE

We haven't come up with a name for this mural yet but that doesn't mean we don't love it! It was painted by Matt Litwin, better known on as Limpio in July '22. It is located at the Charles City Whitewater Course and reflects the beings living in the Cedar River as well as its location next to the Public Library.

WHITEWATER WALL - RIVER SIDE

This is the river facing side of Limpio's mural. This amazing heron is 10' high and includes a nod to the Charles City Whitewater Course.

2022 MURAL ARTISTS

Britt Flood is a painter based in Pittsboro, NC. She received her BFA in Studio Art from Appalachian State University in 2013. She has over 30 public art installations and has been awarded numerous grants. Britt believes in the transformative power of art and her personal goal is to have a mural in all 50 states.
Matt Litwin attended the School of The Art Institute of Chicago in 2008 where he got his BFA. After graduating in 2013, he stayed in Chicago for another year focusing on community murals and tattoos before going to Buenos Aires, Argentina for an artist residency in 2014 where he fell in love with the street art community.
Janiece Bergland has always found drawing and painting habitual. Though a music major in college, following graduation and a few years of teaching, she and her family traveled several times to New England where Janiece took workshops in watercolor with artists whose work she admired. Working almost exclusively in watercolor, Bergland finds the spontaneity and energy in that medium suit her well. Large murals and stage sets require similar techniques, but on a much greater scale. Her work hangs in numerous locations around Iowa and surrounding states.
